This has posed many questions for me as well and look forward to reading more of the examples Vicki shares in the second part of the book.Michellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04822472844833732246noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7496362690287345472.post-77743827032748674082017-07-11T14:36:25.394-05:002017-07-11T14:36:25.394-05:00Your response has me thinking about this problem-b...Your response has me thinking about this problem-based approach and what it might mean for different readers. I'm thinking it might look different for emergent readers as compared to beginning or transitional readers. I'm so glad you are joining the conversation again this year! I love how Burkins and Yaris push us to think about balancing time across a week as well as across whole days - not just literacy time. This really DOES allow us to be more flexible in our thinking. I think as educators we are always asking about schedule/time. I am going to not think in 1/3 (reading, writing, word study) I am thinking about the whole. Not sure where I will end up....but the first section of the book is helping me dig deeper.Mariahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09165228990207676534noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7496362690287345472.post-52167512836367871722017-07-03T08:31:10.634-05:002017-07-03T08:31:10.634-05:00Hi Kendra,

I'm still reading the 1st section but think raising the level of discussions is going to be very helpful to our beginning readers.<br />Nicolehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03216948224543402036noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7496362690287345472.post-802694893877527682017-07-03T08:05:37.119-05:002017-07-03T08:05:37.119-05:00This comment has been removed by the author.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00293381834743134940noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7496362690287345472.post-37708776990399042522017-07-02T19:44:21.865-05:002017-07-02T19:44:21.865-05:00I'm anxious to see how the book unfolds too! Really pushed me to always ask if I'm doing the work for kids.Lisa Corbetthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12602428975643562609noreply@blogger.com
