I would always return to Calkins, too. Her books are still fitting. Love this: "student choice is honored here". That's what we do, isn't it? Choose what pleases us to read for our pleasure. Thanks for sharing what's going on with you lately.Linda Bhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14983144542632353870noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7496362690287345472.post-70341656258414123322016-03-02T15:51:23.964-06:002016-03-02T15:51:23.964-06:00I loved the tour of your classroom and the peek in...I loved the tour of your classroom and the peek into your reading instruction and philosophy.Tarahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13626451110946889157noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7496362690287345472.post-78626427931735389272016-03-02T15:51:19.326-06:002016-03-02T15:51:19.326-06:00I loved the tour of your classroom and the peek in...I loved the tour of your classroom and the peek into your reading instruction and philosophy.Tarahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13626451110946889157noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7496362690287345472.post-17005430790552816272016-03-02T06:15:21.232-06:002016-03-02T06:15:21.232-06:00Joyous reading! It's wonderful to watch readers become a community and share their favorites with one another. You are giving your students such a gift. Thank you for sharing this moment. I provide choice for my kiddos because I want them to LOVE to read by the time they leave me. What better way than to let them choose what they want to read? I find they grow in their skills and knowledge far more and to greater depth when they have choice and a say in what and how they are learning.
